I have to wonder what on earth some think they're doing, getting a dog and letting him end up like this.
Jackson's condition upon entry in rescue was appalling. It is heartwarming to see how far he has come, and how well he is doing with his loving new family. There are 49 pics, and it is worth it to get to the end https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater |

Love his precious heart, a forever and loving home. I agree a very happy ending indeed.

Backstory on Jackson:
He was my sisters boyfriend teenage son's dog(son's mom got him for son) They lost their home to foreclosure, had no $ to vet him, fed him crap food, he lived in a flea infested home~ neglected My sister contacted me to see if I knew of anyone that could adopt or help him. I had no idea he was in that bad of shape...though my sister was livid about his neglect. I think this was July 4 holiday.... Kristin hadn't yet started the SWMI rescue but did do rescue/foster for Richland Animal Rescue, she owns a boarding kennel and has room to foster now and then. I've pulled dogs from shelters for her when needed and knew she was a good one for GSD evals/placements. Well...seeing as it was the holiday, I assumed Kristin's kennel was full but she took on Jackson and groomed him(he was in horrible shape) loved him, vetted him and I really believe Jackson was the reason for getting her very successful rescue up and running. He had so much support on FB and it shows how networking/sharing will help get these dogs much needed medical or transport. Since then, many GSD's have been pulled, transported to the rescue from local and out of state kill shelters and lovingly fostered til adoption. Kristin and her network of help are amazing. I hope this rescue can continue to help others that were in Jackson's place just a few short months ago! |
