I will post some pics of her after her vet appointment tonight and we give her a bath.

She's 2 years old, teeth in AWESOME shape. Was probably a puppy mill breeder dog (gotta love Ohio). She's thin, and her coat is in TERRIBLE shape and it sounds like she's got kennel cough.

Husband said this shelter was brutal. Too many dogs, not enough space, not all the dogs had water in their cages. She also tried to get my husband's sandwich, but was not interested in the dog food...says volumes.

Don't know how she is with my shepherd girl yet or the cats because she doesn't have a rabies vaccine and I'm not risking the health of my pets until this creature has seen a vet. I cannot believe the shelter sent her out the door without a rabies or a heartworm test.

Thank you so much, to you and your husband, for saving her - you will be repaid with her love and loyalty many times over.......

Take the introductions to your other girl and cats slowly, even after she's seen the vet - same sex dogs, especially GSD females, don't always hit it off right away. Takes time and patience.......or - you might be lucky and they are instant buddies! Looking forward to her "after" pics!

We actually only have the one again. The other dog (the mixed breed) that was resource guarding actually has a new home right down the road with a family with no dogs and no cats. Now she guards the 4 year old child, which the parents think is excellent. We go visit her about once a week.

This girl seems to be doing with my alpha girl. She tried to mount mine once and mine warned and it hasn't happened since. She is interested in the cats but only if they approach her. Her ears are rather dirty and she's a little fear aggressive about them, so we are taking it slow. Already taught her that dog food and peanut butter are great and she really seems to have taken to my husband.

We have a friend who bonded with this girly almost from the day we brought her home. He's been waiting to get a dog of his own that really sparked him, and since we feel obligated to help dogs as much as we can (and not keep them forever except our Quorra girl) we got all her vet work finished and she went to her new home Friday. Have already had numerous great pictures of them snuggling in bed and they love each other. So glad that all it took was a bit of money and a drive to save an extra dog. When we get back from Florida at the end of the week, we're going to keep our eyes out for the next one we can pull and help until we can find it another great home, as these shepherds are too cute and adorable to be stuck in some high-kill shelter with no hope. I'm glad this is the least I can do.
