Reached out to Angela and Joanne by email. I also spoke with Angela extensively on the phone. She may already have a place for the male. She does not have the dogs in her possession, yet. I think they are due to come in tomorrow. I told her we would commit based on the assess info she provided and to let me know what she needed. As of now, it looks like we only need to take the female since the they have a potential lined up for the male but I will keep everyone posted :-)

Thanks,

Alisa

Alisa - thank you. I know Angela must be ecstatic, and Joanne will be too. I think she's still at work and may not know yet...

ACO's phone number is 252-799-6800. She is doing everything she can to keep them from going down. There are just very limited resources. No funds available for altering, vaccinations, worming, HW testing. But she is a caring and compassionate lady, so big kudos to her for taking on the job at this shelter. From what I understand, she hasn't been on the job long (but has lots of experience). I have a feeling she's going to make a difference (good!) for the animals in this shelter in the future.
That is so awesome. I'm always amazed at the dedication one sees in people in some of these tiny shelters which have to scrape and scrounge for every penny. There's another one which comes to mind in Louisiana -only 2 volunteers, a very high kill rate because it is rural, but those 2 folks knock themselves out trying to get animals to safety. Makes up for all the horror stories we hear about places where no-one gives a hoot. I hope this lady makes gassing a thing of the past though - it is just so awful.

(All is well Kris, with me and the "kids"!!!!)

Just wanted to let you all know that I spoke with Joanne and Angela again, tonight. The interest fell through on the male so we will be taking BOTH dogs and are very happy to have them. :-) We are coordinating transport as we speak!
