Default Update on living with Chance for almost 2 weeks

Well everyone, the bomb has not dropped!

Chance has been remarkable with adapting to the house. No accidents, he is able to be left uncrated with no problems.

He DOES however sneak on the couch when he thinks I am not looking.
He loves my son Matt and follows him everywhere.

No aggression except if the other person or animal seems to be a threat.

His appetite is strange as he will not eat during the day at all, but when it gets to be around 7-8 pm then he wants to wolf down what is in his bowl.
I want him eating in the morning since he wants to poop very late at night and that was just not working for me.
So, yesterday I put his food out in the morning and pulled it up when he didn't eat it. I tried one more time around 3 pm, and naddah.
So, he went without eating for the day.
Guess what, he sure wolfed down his food this morning!
Diarrhea is all gone now. However, I have to watch him when he poops as he seems like he is going to eat it after relieving himself. So I say a firm "ACK!" and immediately get him in the house, then I clean it up.
Nothing like having a POO EATER. No thanks!
All in all, this is the best dog I have ever had in my entire life.

Awwww. Sounds like he is doing great! And Dharma is a poo eater too. I have to run behind her and yell "leave it" and pick it up before she eats it. I have no idea why she think turds are a tasty treat but will be picky about her dog food. And as soon as you posted that pic of the gorgeous white couch my first thought was that you may want to get a cover cuz Chance was going to just LOVE that couch.

Eileen, I am so happy for you and Chance. My old girl has been eating poo lately too. I think she is getting senile. She also insists on going behind the shed so she can get to the fence to see the neighbors' dog - her friend. "Annie" hates other dogs and hasn't had a friend in her 13 years of life. Again - she is senile. She doesn't remember that she doesn't like other dogs.

You are an awesome person to provide Chance with that beautiful couch. Maybe you can get a couch for yourself one day. HA!

Big hugs to you and Chance!
Jan

Glad to hear you and Chance are in a good groove.
My dog chooses to eat in the evening too. Leave her food all day and only occasionally will she have taken any. Also have poo eating issue since puppyhood, which makes for a clean yard. Currently going through adjustment to new Orijen, yuck. Fortunately her bowel schedule is not inconvenient for me, she has me trained to perfection.
