Working to try to get this girl for GSRA. Her "hold" time is not up until 4:30...so she is not available until then. Someone needs to be there in person to sign for her..they will not do anything over phone. I have calls in to a few of the volunteers local to the area to see if they can help.

The volunteer was able to go down to the shelter and secure her for GSRA. Lady is still at the shelter, and we just need to work out the details of picking her up. Will keep everyone posted!! A big thanks to Sue W and GSRA!

Not sure on her status. Hoping to get her to vet quickly to get her tuned-up (shots, HW test, etc) and assessed. She doesn't look preggo to me, just looks like she has had several litters. Of course I am no expert in this arena. I had a foster last year that was preggo (Sheba), but she was a no brainer---extremely swollen belly, and gave birth about a week later. I will ask the vet for her opinion.

Lady, now known as Lacy, is safe and out of the shelter! I picked her up on Thursday afternoon. She is a very shy and scared girl, and has a look of total bewilderment in her eyes. Hopefully she will start to decompress in a few days, and see that I am her friend. She seems very unsure of everything. I am fostering her. Since she is so overwhelmed, I set her up in the back room, where it is nice and quiet. I set up an extra large crate with some blankets, and put a blanket over the top. She prefers to stay curled up in the crate as opposed to staying out in the room. I'll give her a couple of days to settle in before I even attempt to introduce her to my crazy pack.

Lacy went to the vet today for her shots, rabies vac, and HW test. She tested positive. Unfortunate, but not unexpected. Lacy will be spayed next week, so her puppy machine days are over! Will also have a broken tooth removed at the same time. Once she recovers from spay, we will start HW treatment. Hoping she starts to come around soon. I feel so sorry for her...it almost seems as if she really has not had much human contact. She jumps at even the smallest motion or sound. She has such a sad and defeated look in her eyes. Hoping this will change in the near future.

Thank you for giving Lacy a wonderful Christmas present! She has probably never known kindness - so it's all a bit overwhelming. Very pretty girl......
