The shelter that I work for had a long coat GSD about 8 months old. I had mentioned him from time to time in other posts. He was picked up as a stray and we found out he was tied to a pole and left out, untrained and totally out of control.
The wonderful volunteers at our shelter worked with him constantly in hopes that a rescue would be found for him. He was coming along, slowly. But GSD's and shelters just don't mix. It is very hard on them with all the barking and other dogs constantly walking by etc... But the volunteers kept working with him. Never giving up. Well this past weekend a woman came who does search and rescue and looked at him and they decided to take him and work with him!! He will be involved in search and rescue and have owners that know the breed, how to train and handle the dog. I was so happy coming in monday to work!!! Just had to share the good news!!!!!
