achment(s) from NJShelterPets@aol.com included below] Forwarded message from nlfarmer@verizon.net I'm looking for someone to take our German Shepherd he is 1 1/2 years old. We got him from a breeder in PA when he was 7 weeks old and have had him since. He was a birthday gift for our son but he is very moody and sometimes shows his teeth very aggressively at our son, this has started to get worse and I don't want to leave him alone with my child. If my son has friends come over I have to put the dog in a cage because he also shows his teeth at other children. We are willing to bring the dog to you. I don't think it is fair to the dog to keep him in a cage all the time. I really want to give him to someone by the end of this month or I have to have him put down. He really scares me being around our son. I think with some aggressive training he can be a good dog for someone or a good dog for someone who doesn't have children, he's a great watch dog. I've attached a couple pictures for him please can you help our dog. Thank you, Nancy __._,_.___ Attachment(s) from NJShelterPets@aol.com 1 of 1 Photo(s)

ack!
I wonder if she knows that in most breeder contracts it says the dogs are not to go to a shelter and are to be returned to the breeder in the case the buyer can't keep the dog...that is certainly a better option than putting him down

very true, however doesn't sound like owner has tried. Just willing to give up on a pup she's had since 7 weeks old. Just not right! Putting him down is crazy when the pup obviously has had no training.

If he is only showing aggression towards children then it sounds like a puppy was never taught that children are not his litter mates. Is there anyone in the area that can contact and evaluate this dog? I would be curious to know what age the child is, and if something may have been done to the dog by the child to make the dog aggressive towards him and other children.
Jen - if possible please follow up and ask if there was a breeder contract as Yvonne mentioned. |

How very sad!! He's so young, and has great potential. If only I was in NJ, I can't afford to drive up there or to fly him down myself.
