Everything about her is killing me.When I see a sable in need it breaks my heart but due to my sable I would be unable to help her.If somehow the pups needed help alone I could arrange to foster if I could get in with a rescue or if a private person took them in.

I would assume so. Vet here just told me when she worked with a shelter, they would put litters of kittens to sleep along with the the mothers if they were scheduled to be pts.
Can anyone pull them? If some transport could be arranged, I can make part of the trip and am able to foster.

I have a friend in SC I may get her to Pull and I will meet half way I will either take immunizations with me and give or have my mobile vet waiting This is all in the planning stage So if anyone else steps up fine but I am trying I am not a rescue but once they are put down there are no dogs to get into rescue

When do you think you will do this? I live near Raleigh and MAY be able to help with transport???? Depending on the day and length...

Please keep us posted, otherwise I would be happy to figure out arrangments to get her here. Not a rescue either but I work at a vet clinic and we work closely with a couple rescues in the area.

Everyone,

Thank you all for your support! I am going to do this on my own. GSRA is full right now, so def will not be able to commit to mom and pups - so I am gonna go rogue and just do it! It is killing me :-(

I have reached out to the volunteers at the shelter. They don't have much info on her, other then she is a nice girl and seems to be a really good mom. Definitely taking care of her pups. There are 8-9 puppies. Am guessing there will be less by Tuesday just due to the cold etc. :-( Shelter is closed Monday and they will not let me get them until Tuesday at 10am. I have a transport lined up. Angels in Wheels is going to pull them and I am meeting them in Benson.

Here is the deal - I am going to be out of town Friday - Monday for a work event, which means I could really use some help with boarding for that time. This was a huge reason I almost did not commit. Can anyone help with this?

Also, I have reached out to my vets and am waiting for a response. I need to know what costs are going to be associated, rigt up front. Most care will go to the mom since the pups are so young. Still, I worry about parvo -those pups won't survive it at this age and that shelter is bad news as there is no quarantine and def no vet care. Also, let's assume she is going to be hw + and also will need a spay. Hw treatment can bc expensive and I know my vet will cut us a break but still. Last, I need help with the puppies when they get older. Will need someone to commit to help me place them through a rescue or something. Can anyone help with that? I can't do 8-9 pups on my own they hit 8 weeks. Would feel better about this if I knew there would be support in helping me place them in additional foster care in pairs (for continued socialization) or could help me place them in good homes.

Please feel free to PM me if you can help in any way!

Thank you so much!!!

Alisa

also, 4dog - if you get this coordinated before me or feel like you can save the boarding costs and can take them for longer than their 8 weeks etc. Please feel free... PM me, if you want :-)
