Yes, Sabra is pictured below with my malti-poo, Toad! Sabra is my heart - I don't know what I would do without her... she is truly my best friend... I love ALL of my dogs, but Sabra and I have a connection that is just special. Anyway, Toad and Sabra are buddies. LOL
![]() I have always loved the name "Sabra" and she was actually named after a dancer. LOL I have never heard anyone else with the name, either - I know people use "Saber" a lot - but never Sabra. Great name :-) and great minds think alike, Hatterasser ;-)

Growing up, I had two childhood friends that were sisters. Their names were Sabra and Annie. I also love the name Sabra and it is especially nice for me because of the association with a childhood friend.

I want to join the chorus congratulating Alisagirl127 on saving Nadia and the little (now bigger) ones.
Regarding your own dog, Sabra refers to an Israeli who was born in Israel, it also means a cactus that grows there. Of course words spelled the same mean different things in different languages. Who cares, Sabra sounds like a dream dog. MJ |

Hey there,
Everyone is doing fine - not much to report as they look exactly the same, except for fatter :-) LOL - other than that, nothing has changed... I am eagerly waiting for them to open their eyes - it should be any time now, as they will be 2 weeks on Wednesday. I have also noticed that a couple of them have been trying to stand and walk. Also, we got our color coded collars and you can tell everyone apart now. Nadia is the same as she always is - sweet, beautiful, loving - more confident every day. As soon as those eyes open and the walking begins, I am sure I will have much to report and more to photograph! LOL I can't wait ;-)

If my history is correct, Israel was not formed in 1800. *giggles* So my great aunt's name probably did not come from there...but I wonder where the name originated. Special hug to Nadia and each and everyone of the pups from me and Thor and Freya. Can't wait for the next set of pictures.

Hello All,
Just wanted to send out a quick update. Nadia and pups are doing GREAT. Everyone is gaining weight - all eyes are open (when they aren't sleeping - LOL) and they are starting to find their feet. Little personalities are starting to develop and I have also noticed their colors are changing - the black and tan features are starting to come in a bit on the babies that were born all black and the sables are changing, too (darkening and lightening) :-) It is so neat to see - I can't wait for them to start playing. For now, they sleep A LOT and love to EAT! Speaking of eating, Ms. Nadia is my little chow hound. She looks healthier and is MUCH more confident in herself around here. She spends less time with the pups and more time with me and the rest of the pack. She is still a great mom, but enjoys her "breaks" - and can you really blame her? LOL Those pups are A LOT of work. LOL It snowed today and Nadia wasn't very happy about going out with the rest of the dogs, but with some gentle coaxing and reassurance she decided she could deal with it. LOL All in all, everyone is doing well - not much more to report. Please enojoy the pictures :-) Nadia taking a "break" ![]() Pile of colorful puppies :-) They all got new collars that are velcro and adjustable up to 10 inches!!! Awesome!!! ![]() Katie (our little runt) at 2 weeks ![]() Notice the shepherd markings that are starting to come in :-) ![]() ![]() I'm a little sweet potatoe ![]() Big Yawn! ![]() Peek-a-boo
