Has anyone gotten an update on MAdeline and her puppies. From reading posts on Raleigh's CL evidently there was some drama at the Robeson shelter today-the supervisor and the media were called.
Any one have any news?

Alisa picked her up and has her. She will try to update us when she gets a chance. Which is hopefully soon because I CAN'T WAIT FOR PICTURES! But yes. This mom and her babies are safe!

Jean,
I couldn't find anything that said specifically what happened, but I did find this on Raleigh Craigslist: Quote:

Thank you katieliz for creating that beautiful blog and continuing to donate in Diesel's memory... if it were not for people like you, this sort of thing would not be possible. I think it is amazing that you honor Deisel like this. It brought a tear to my eye. I will never forget Diesel after seeing this blogspot and knowing what good was done in his honor! Wow!
Again - Thank You to everyone for stepping up for this family...BDBH and Katieliz and everyone that made this wonderful save happen - you guys ROCK THE HOUSE!!!! Woo, hoo! This was not just my save -it was OUR save and I am so proud to be part of such a giving animal community :-) Go us!!!

Hey Guys!
Also, my trip to the shelter was surprisingly easy. I don't have any horror stories to tell - the kennels were clean, dogs were fed etc. (I am NOT saying horror stories don't happen here bc I, for one, have witnessed VERY bad things at this shelter before from some of the kennel workers. But not this time. Phew!) Anyway, I was there an hour early, just in case - doors opened at 10am - Jeff greeted us and helped me pull the pups and mother - all while answering phones and questions and writing paperwork... at the same time. He was professional and a great multi-tasker. I was in and out of the shelter with the family in about 20 minutes. I am hoping to establish a relationship there so I did my best to kill him with kindness and not anger/frustration/or stupidity - no one ever got the honey by pissing the bees off, if you know what I mean. I want him to see that GSD rescues are where it is at and that we will always follow through - ALWAYS. Solid relationships are the key to these facilities. The only thing I still wish is that they would put something down for mothers with newborns. Our pups came out with ammonia/concrete burns on their little feet (vet said it was probably a combo of both)... most had parts of their feet pads competely eaten away. I put a picture of one of the pups little feet on my facebook page. I am treating with vitamin E and vet said they should heal up in no time -but still... Anyway, not much left to tell about the actual trip to the shelter.
