sad update from mary today. gus has had so many health issues, the most serious one i think has been his kidney disease. he has now reached what sounds like "end-stage renal failure", has had some very abnormal blood tests, has little appetite, and it seems as tho his trip to the bridge could come at any time.

since gus came up from southern cross to mary and her family, he's had a wonderful life, where he knew excellent care and love. he's had all these health issues ever since mary got him, and i think it's only because of her great care and quality nutrition that he's even gone this long.

please send good thoughts and energy to mary as she makes this ever so difficult decision, and good energy to gus for an easy, peaceful trip.

bless your heart gus. thank you mary.

We lost our sweet boy Blue to end stage kidney disease, it's a difficult health issue to manage. So I understand the commitment you have had to make Mary, and I also want to say "thank you" for the care you have given this dear boy. God speed Gus - we'll all be at the Bridge some day..........
