And for those wondering who Roxie is - Roxie is BDBH's newest Mega-E pup. Our transport coordinator has arranged her transport from GA to OH with trusted drivers/OH overnighters. Roxie is joining Buttons in OH, we have cleared it with our vets for this transport with safe handling, and Julie will personally be driving to OH to bring Roxie to her Mega-E experienced foster in Buffalo and Buttons to her foster in Rochester. Thank you Julie!! Huge multiple efforts and planning went into this transport and overnight.

Here is a picture of Roxie girl:

Thank you to all who helped us get Buttons and Roxie to their BDBH foster home in Rochester and Buffalo, respectively. I posted on update on Buttons in Follow-up.

Since Roxie was not on the Board, I wanted to show a few pictures her of her from Tranpsort. She did beautifully all weekend - no complication from her Mega-E condition!!

All transporters and our overnight family did a wonderful job taking care of her. Huge thank you to our Transport Coordinator Julie who really took extra care of Buttons (our distemper survivor) and Roxie (our newest Mega-E pup)!!

It was heartbreaking to watch Roxie's mom say goodbye to her, but she wanted what was best for Roxie and she was not in a financial position to provide that. Thank you BDBH for taking Roxie in under your wing.

Default Re: Update on BDBH's Roxie with Mega-E!

Thanks Amy for helping us with transport!!

Roxie's mom knows that we will keep in close contact with her and that we will take excellent care of Roxie.

Several of us at BDBH have a special place in our hearts for Mega-E dogs and we try to help them when we can*

I am going to ask the Mods to move this Rescue - Where are They Now so we can update on Roxie in the appropriate section.

Sidenote: BDBH had a couple interested in the C litter (Livvy's litter from KY). We found at later that the husband wanted a "perfect" GSD pup and they decided to go to a breeder. A few months later that couple came to BDBH's Meet and Greet with a sweet boy, who was diagnosed with Mega-E, believed to be primary congenital, not secondardy. The emergency vet suggested euthanizing him, luckily they didn't listen and instead sought information and a different vet, experienced with Mega-E:

He is not 4 1/2 months old - 43 lbs and has not regurged in weeks. He is being fed 5 times a day (small special meals), evelvated. He is a dear boy. His parents are away in AZ this week and Michael and I are taking care of him for them.

Here are some pictures of this sweet boy from this weekend, who were it not for his parents refusing to give up on him, would not be alive and thriving, like Roxie is because her mom took such excellent care of her.
