Default My new foster

She's so sweet and beautiful. This is so sad.

I named her Jade. The wound is from another starving dog biting her at the shelter. These are the "just walked in the door" pics. Still with the disgusting collar she came with and so forth. More later after her bath, etc.

Please don't over feed her. I know it's hard not to want to just let her eat everything she wants. But it's NOT healthy for her!

An emaciated dog's system can't handle a ton of food at once. Smaller, more frequent meals is better than a couple big ones.

And thanks for taking her in!

I know- thanks for the reminder She just picks at it. I'm sure she'll feel better in a few days.

Water was more important than having food in front of her. Willow, our first foster, looked like that. She was very dehydrated. I left the water down as long as she wasn't gulping it and fed her small meals of high quality kibble.

She's going to be a beauty!

She has free access to water, but isn't too interested. She came from a shelter where she had water all the time, maybe that's why? She'd been at the shelter a few days. She DID drink some of the water in her bucket on the drive back (four hours), but not all of it. She's so dainty acting. Gave her a bath and she's a lot more relaxed with me now!

omg i love her. her eyes are so soulfull and yet still tell the tale of suffering she has endured. she stole my breath! she looks like she needs to trust someone, anyone. she tells such a story of a good soul yearning to love and be loved. my gosh, she rocked me to the core and ripped my heart out!
