This has been a pretty crappy week. On Sunday, we lost Sheila, an old girl that we pulled a while back. We knew her days were numbered when we took her, but we thought she might have a little more time to stick around. She had pretty advanced cancer and started bleeding into her abdomen. The vet and the foster agreed that it was time to let her go.
Then last night, our old gal named Grannie, who had been dumped as a senior at a shelter, collapsed and had no use of either rear leg and was in such bad pain she was crying. The emergency vet thought it was advanced DM or a slipped disc. So, she went peacefully to the Bridge in her foster mom's arms. I guess the upside to this is that both old girlies are out of pain and they both left this world knowing that someone actually gave a **** about them. DoG speed to the Bridge Sheila and Grannie.

Sorry to hear about that. Thats the pits about old dogs, you keep on telling yourself that they won't be around much longer, but it doesn't lessen the pain any when they do go. I too, have rescued seniors in the past, and I know only too well your pain right now.

Lea: It is always a loss. I am so sorry to hear about Sheila and Grannie and yes they are both out of pain and at peace and they knew they were loved (that is the best gift we can give sometimes). Darcy

I'm so sorry. It sounds like they had a great life with you. Rest in peace, Sheila and Granny.
