Default MINNESOTA-Odin-2 y.o. neutered sweetheart w/papers

[/img]

Odin is just leaving the puppy stage at 2 years old and searching for a home that loves the nobility, loyalty and intelligence of a faithful German Shepherd.
He is a cuddler and a kind soul asking only that you are told his favorite treat in the world is ice-cubes and he will go to the ends of the earth if you'll just share the ice from your drinks with him.
This richly pigmented GSD is registered, neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, house-trained and an inside dog/companion.

His ideal persons would delight in his prospect of obedience, agility, rally or tracking.

Your friend,
ODIN
</span>

Thanks from this beautiful boy, you can pm or email me for more information and additional pictures.

Thanks, brt!
Wonderful temperament as well!

The couple who have had him from puppy-hood are expecting a baby (at the end of February) ....... and while they love him they feel they won't give him the time he needs and deserves. They have waivered and then feel it in his best interests to rehome him, and then wondered again. I feel that if they are going back and forth in their decision, ultimately after the baby arrives he would be put on the back burner again, I think we've seen this same situation before in our rescue efforts, right?
I know that after 2 years with a GSD I raised from a pup, he wouldn't be going anywhere...... but then that's me and my dedication to this noble breed.
Thanks for your kind reply, brt.

He sounds like the complete package Patsy. I just find these situations very sad because they make it obvious that some people really don't think ahead when getting a dog. I don't know these owners so just speaking in general here. Life can and does throw us unexpected curve balls at times that are unforeseeable but most likely a young couple knows they plan to have children some day. People need to think more about those things before they get a dog, and really commit for the life of the dog.

Kids do take up a lot of time but when raising my own I made time for my dogs. Like you, I would never part with him if he were mine. My dogs were with me through divorce, moves, illness and raising the kids, all reasons that are often used when giving up a dog. My dogs were what helped me keep my sanity through those times. I feel sorry for Odin whose whole world is about to be turned upside down through no fault of his own. I really hope he finds a home that will treasure him for the rest of his life.

Odin is now a member of my household. He is happy and learning the "house rules." I have been in email contact with the former owners, sending them pics and updates on how he's doing. My thanks to Patsy for arranging his re-homing.
