Default Frozen Summer Treat

So this isn't really a recipe, but I thought it was a pretty good idea. A few weeks ago I made a bunch of pre made baggies full of sliced fruit and yogurt, and froze them to have a quick way to make smoothies in the morning. I noticed them this afternoon, as I hadn't eaten barely any of them, and decided to just eat the frozen fruit out of it as a snack. I ended up giving Jack the frozen yogurt block, and he loved it! It was plain, non-fat yogurt that I had just scooped a few spoonfuls of into a muffin tin and frozen. I thought it could be a pretty easy way to make a bunch at once to have for Jack outside on a hot summer day. Nothing too exciting, but I wanted to share anyways!

Here's Jack enjoying his yogurt block.

You can mix it with pumpkin and freeze it too.

Its a great idea. We do it too. My husband will put a chicken liver or some other organ meat in the middle. [disclaimer: be careful with organ meat because too much can cause loose stools].

Oooh, thats a good idea of putting something in them. We'll have to try that. These were plain cause they were originally meant for me, but I'm sure he'll love the bonus of something hiding in the middle!

You're welcome Daisy & Lucky! Kind of hard to get them out of the muffin tin once they are frozen, but just let them sit on the counter a few minutes (not too long though, they will melt quick!), and they should just pop right out with a knife or fork.

we do this all the time (kind of) I buy the regular cups of yogurt (like yoplait) and just pop the whole thing in the freezer take the lid off then feed it to Jinx. Sometimes I'll buy the big 2 lb tubs and scoops it out into a couple containers add a handful of frozen fruit to it (generally blueberries) then freeze it, she loves them. I know some people that give it like you did but Jinx picks it up and chomps it and I want it to last longer so giving it in the container works best ehre since she has to lick it gone. Good way to get her to settle down for a bit of quiet time.

If you buy a few individual cups just save them and refill them with the big container for cost savings

Great idea! Jack just always tries to eat the plastic cup the yogurt comes in, kind of like chewing on his kong. I had some sliced kiwi frozen in the bag as well, I tried to give it to him, and he just spit it back out at me! I don't think he was a fan. Haha!
