This dish, including many pics, came out so well I thought I'd post them.
The smell and taste was amazing Since DGF is vegetarian I have also arranged the recipe and pics to accommodate both herbivore and omnivore, but not canine Enjoy!!Full List of Ingredients & Supplies 1lb King Crab 1lb String Beans 1 Thumb Ginger Root (julienne or slice) 4 Cloves Garlic (sliced) 2 Tbl Vegetable Oil (or if you like Hot/Spicy then substitute Chili Oil instead of Veg. Oil) 2 Tbl Rice Wine Vinegar 1/8 Tsp Sesame Oil 1/2 Tbl Unsalted Butter 1/8 Tsp Kosher Salt 1/8 Tsp Fresh Ground Pepper (exclude if using Chili Oil) 10" good quality Fry Pan (can substitute non-stick if that's all you have) 1 10" Bamboo Steamer 1 Steak Knife 1 Meat Cleaver 1 Wooden Spoon 1 Kitchen Shears/Scissors (2) 1 Quart Bowls 1 Brush Ingredients Pics do not include Vegetable Oil ; Rice Wine Vinegar ; Tsp Sesame Oil ; Tbl Unsalted Butter King Crab / Ginger / Garlic / Fresh String Beans Ginger / Garlic / Salt / Pepper Chili Oil for Hot/Spicy Version Cut Crab Into Pieces with Cleaver to Fit Inside Bamboo Steamer Run Quickly Under Cold Water & Scrub the Shell Clean *Fill 10" Fry Pan with Water *Run Water Over Bamboo Steamer So It Will Not Burn *Place Steamer on Top of Fry Pan (should rest perfectly on pan) *Place Frozen Crab Inside Steamer and Cover for Approximately 5 Minutes Remove Steamer from Fry Pan Do Not Throw Away Liquid Reduce by 90% until about 1/4 cup of Seafood Broth remains Set Broth Aside ![]() Remove Crab from Shell Cut Larger Pieces into 1/4 Inch Pieces *Clean Pan __________________________________________________ ________ Vegetarian Section Starts Here *Heat Pan on High *Use 1lb String Beans + Half of all other ingredients (except butter) *Add in the following Order & Amounts of Time 1.Oil (30 second-1 minute) 2. Ginger (45 second) 3. Garlic (30 seconds) 4. Beans/Salt/Pepper (3-4 minutes) Stir Regularly to Avoid Burning Garlic 5. Turn Heat Off & Add Rice Wine Vinegar 6. Stir Until Incorporated into Beans or Evaoprates 7. Add Sesame Oil & Stir (30 seconds) 8. Plate Beans or Divide if Making Multiple Dishes ![]() End Vegetarian Section __________________________________________________ ________ Omnivore Section Starts Here *Do Not Clean Pan After Beans Have Finished Cooking 1. Turn Heat on High Again 2. Add Remaining Oil Immediately to Pan (30 second-1 minute) 3. Add Remaining Ginger (45 second) 4. Add Remaining Garlic (30 seconds) 5. Add Crab Meat (1 Minute) 6. Add Rice Wine Vinegar & Mix (15 Seconds) 7. Add Crab Broth Reduction & Butter 8. Turn Heat to Low & Use Wooden Spoon to Mix Ingredient & Deglaze anything on the Bottom of the Pan (there will be nothing to do here if you use a non-stick pan) 9. When Crab & Liquid have created a sauce (30 sec.-1 min) turn heat off 10. Stir in Sesame Oil 11 Place on top of beans in Serving Bowl Finished Dish - (was Served w/ Brown Rice) Serves 3 Adults or 2 Adults and 2-3 non-teenage Children or 1 Counter Surfing Dog

when its my nights to cook if there's something that comes out particularly well i'll post it plus requests are welcome. it may give me some new ideas ![]() my best results are usually these types of cuisine: Asian (especially chinese, thai, vietnamese) American Italian French

In case anyone is interested. Here's the nutritional chart for the whole recipe. Divide this by the number of servings to get actual numbers.
Example: Salt is 100% of daily amt. for the whole dish. But the dish is approximately 3 servings so the actual amt. of salt is 33.3% per serving etc. The salt was for the vegetarian portion only. The whole dish does not need the salt since the crab is naturally salty on its own. This would lower the sodium amount a little bit too for those concerned with it.
