The puppers love Sam's Yams but man they are pricey! So I experimented today, with success!
Raw sweet potato (washed) Cut in half lengthwise Then cut into lengthwise slices, about 1/3 inch thick Place on cookie sheet bake at 200 for about two hours I flipped mine about every 30 min. Put in a ziplock bag when done. The pups seem to love them...I'm working on my second batch now.

I dehydrate them, make about 10lbs every month or so. These are their absolute faves!
Here's how I do it and wind up with a more chewy consistency vs crunchy or dried out: Peel and slice sweet potatoes (I get the biggest ones I can find) and slice thick using a meat slicer. Put the slices in boiling water until a bit "bendable" but not so they break when you grab them w/a tongs to remove them from the water. Drop them into cold water mixed w/Fruit Fresh (instructions on back of label) for a few minutes Drop them into large strainer/colander, I don't rinse Let them drip off awhile then transfer via tongs to your dehydator and dehydate at 135 deg for however long it takes. Time will vary depending on your DH machine.
