Default Dog Aggression/Schutzhund

I have a 6 month old GSD and he has begun to display dog aggression about one month ago. We socialized him and he seemed to be fine with other dogs before this. Along with my mini aussie, we have been taking him to the dog park in the secluded area to get used to being around other dogs but still have that barrier. He continues to bark and growl at other dogs when I take him for walks around the neighborhood. I would like to start him in Schutzhund but they will not take him with dog aggression. Any tips? This is my first GSD.

Who is "they." Any decent club should be willing to help you get control of the dog aggression through obedience. What bloodlines is the pup out of? Some clubs don't want to deal with dogs that don't likely have the genetics to do well at the sport.

With such a young puppy it's probably just a reactive stage he's going thru. Good classes PLUS your proper guidance should take this in hand as long as you continue to socialize and take him out in the world.

Have you seen this? --> Help! Aggressive on Leash and I can't control!

Is this a dog you got specifically for the sport Lucian? You may just be frustrating him from always trying to restrain him from things. Try thinking more of teaching him what you want him to do, not always trying to stop him from doing things.

Over half the dogs in my schutzhund club are dog aggressive. It's called obedience and training. Find a good trainer to help you and a new club to join
