Puppy peeing when excited.
I don't know if this has been asked before. But my boy just started to pee when petted,or happy to see someone. Is this normal, and will stop? I've tried emptying his blaster before contact with his people, but some how he still squeeze some out

Normal, try to be calm when greeting, may want to be outside for awhile. Gets better as you greet him calmer and as he gets older!

My first shepherd peed when people came over and got her all revved up...
I do recall it as quite a hassle...I used to have her outside the backdoor when friends would come over so at least she'd squirt outside.

I have no idea if it was a submissive thing or a happy/pleasure overload thing...all I do know is it was short-lived...a couple months ????? I also know she understood that doing the happy dance piss in the house routine wasn't in her best interests....

I'll bet someone who knows the "dogshrinker" stuff could suggest possible reasons why it is happening....and possible corrections.

Try and stay calm, no excitement just low energy when around him, ask other people to do the same. He should learn from you to do the same and this may help stop his peeing.

Alice used to do that whenever my dad petted her after coming home from work. She would start wriggling in excitement then out of a sudden she would be peeing wherever she is standing. She was doing it until last month. I have no idea what made her stop but I am really grateful she did.

Submissive peeing, worse in females, but I like the outside advice or as soon as you get home open that door and let him out before even talking or saying anything to greet him.

I agree with everyone else - my puppy was doing this up until about 8 months. Every time I let him out of his cage he would pee everywhere because he was so excited. So we started letting him out and I wouldn't touch him or talk to him until he went straight outside to pee. For awhile there we was very excited when people came to the door and would do the same.

He just grew out of it about a month ago, although I still don't get him too excited when I arrive home just in case. It's a puppy thing! :)
