Default 16 weeks and Suddenly Afraid of Dogs

I've taken my puppy through puppy Meet-and-Greets, First Puppy Classes and many places where other dogs are being walked in controlled situations. I have two older, large dogs at home. We never had a problem until this week, when our pup suddenly became afraid of all the other dogs. His hackles go up and he barks at them. He even barked at a dog on a cardboard cut out on a sign in the pet food store. Everyone around was laughing but I was concerned at the sudden change. I backed off from taking him places with other dogs in case it is overwhelming him right now, but I need advice on how to proceed.

stop the socializing with other dogs. Not necessary especially since you have two at home. rethinking "popular" early socialization

I did stop the socializing with other dogs. He is going through a fear stage because suddenly he was afraid to get in the car (he previously loved the car). I decided it was too much for him and avoided his final puppy class
