Default Biting.... EVERYTHING

Our 9 week old pup Max loves chewing. On anything and everything. Hands, slippers, baby crib. You name it, he likes to chew on it. He didn't do this before. It has just started here in the last couple of days. Any suggestions???

Welcome to owning a herding breed puppy. This is why they are called "land sharks" Be prepared- you're in for a long phase. Be patient and redirect to something appropriate to chew on. Unfortunately, at 9 weeks, it will get worse before it gets better. Be patient! Consistency is key.

Give him things that he CAN chew on. When you catch him chewing on things that you don't want him to chew on, distract him with a toy. When you play with him, make sure to have a toy in hand so he doesn't think that your hand is the toy and okay to bite it.

i'm going through it with the 2nd puppy in a year. we just make sure he has too many things to chew on. bottles, boxes, bully sticks, bones, hooves, antlers, empty paper towel rolls, pig ears, pork skins and whatnot and keep things he can't chew on out of reach or take anything else he can't chew on away when he gets it. place was a mess for a while. he's 15 weeks now and has for the most part knows what he can chew on or not. our last puppy kept trying to chew this one spot or the wall on a corner and No Chew spray on there worked pretty good.

They are fuzzygators.

You will be OK after he truns one, provided you have trained him consistently.

I love this second shot! It's the first months of having a GSD in a nutshell!
