Default Hyper puppy...

...My GSD turns 11 weeks old tomorrow I got him on Monday, this is my 4th GSD in succession and is by the most hyper GSD I've had to deal with. Zooming around the house grabbing stuffed animals, teething my last GSD did not exhibit a lot of this, maybe it's just the 8.5 year gap in puppies.

Time can make you forget a lot My grandparents have always had Aussies, when they got their current dog after their last dog had passed, they said the same thing. Then they found old videos and photos....

I hope you're enjoying your new pup, I was so sorry to hear about Cutter...

Everyone wants a puppy until they actually have one. They really can be a handful.

You're just used to a trained adult and this puppy is in a new environment and doesn't know the rules yet. Time, patience, exercise, and training will help.

Yep! Ain't that the truth. My pup just turned 5 months today and he is really much better now with "patience, lots of exercise, training and an X-pen to put him in when he just couldn't settle down". But he was literally wearing me out! So there is light at the end of the puppy tunnel

I feel your pain here. Ugh. I LOVE my 5 month old Yogi Bear but I am NEVER getting another puppy. Rescue all the way. Lol!

Thank you for the condolences, Cutter passed pretty fast. When I raised Cutter I was retired and spent the whole day with him training him, now working my wife is home with him and I'm getting Hourly puppy reports. Now I'm working again and when I get home at 4pm he's fine except for the teething which is to be expected. This will be my 1st full weekend with him, gonna do lots of training. Can't wait unit March 1st when I can start taking him to our 5 acre off leash Dog Park to run off some energy.
