Shelby is now 7 months old. She has been spayed, dewclaw removed, and had her most recent vet check ups go great! I have a question to see if anybodies GSD's do this. She takes her back paw and kick scratches at the left side of her mouth. She does it so hard sometimes that she gives herself a bloody lip. I always try to stop her when she gets going. Like I said, she has been to the vet and nothing medically wrong with her.

My Sting doesn't do it by the lip, but sometimes by the face and not too much. It is almost like he has an itchy nose. If you can keep Shelby's nails trimmed that will reduce the amount of damage she can do when she scratches.

it is just that left side of her face and she ends up ripping up her bottom lip. she doesn't do it all the time. it's like a normal dog itch you would see but she just really goes to town. she actually just did it but not as hard while i type this. it's not always hard just sometimes she really whacks her face with her paw. i'll keep an eye on it.
