I have a white German Shepard puppy here and yesterday night he needed to be put under to drain an abscess (which turned out to be a blocked slavery gland.) Right now he keeps on whining in his sleep. He goes to sleep, whines, wakes up and goes back to sleep. This has been happening all night. Could it be a reaction to the anesthesia or something else? We also gave him a bath earlier tonight, could that be a cause? Thanks!

Does sound like pain... hopefully there were some pain meds with the antibiotics...

generally when a dog goes under, the premed given has pain meds in it and will last 24 hrs after but ask your vet to be sure...sounds like hes having some bad dreams but could also be pain related..
