Default 6 month puppy issues

My Max is a 6 month old GSD male, he is a very sweet boy most of the time, he eats raw comes from a very reputable breeder etc, the problem is he barks and nips at my 13 year old daughter when she comes near me, he also barks at me when I leave the room, we do do socializing with him walk him around people when possible, the poor guy also has pano so his leg hurts, I do not want to over exercise him, he also loves to go after the cats and air snaps at them, he is not the only dog we also have a 10 yr old golden who he loves, could he be protective at this age and any idea how I can stop this... Thank you

the barking and especially nipping at your 13 yr old wouldn't fly with me at all

What do you do , as in corrections, when he does this?

This is exactly the age many of us start having issues and its the perfect age to start up with the official dog classes. Gives us the knowledge and skills to guide our dogs for the rest of their lives.

It is not so much nipping as trying to chew on her clothes and its a high pitched yapping that he does, I have tried telling him no and giving him a tug on his collar, I have put him away, now we are having our daughter be more assertive with him in telling him no, working somewhat, he is stubborn took him to a training in the first 2 weeks and he spent the first 30 min barking at the other dogs except the one that was not a GSD last 2 times was much better, trainer suggested a prong collar cause he is so single minded, works like a charm.
