freezes with distractions... help

For the last couple of days just to get Lulu used to everything I've been taking her out in the neighborhood. It seems like everytime we walk anywhere if she sees a person or an animal or anything like that she freezes. ToNight there were multiple people outside and she really frozen and put herself in a down. The first time I wasn't really sure what to do so I just carried her past the distraction to let her know that it was okay and that I was there a protect her. The second time I left her on the ground and demanded her attention and put her into some commands that she knew like sit and down to get her confidence up and then walked her past it.


Is there anything else I should be doing to help her feel more confident and comfortable in these situations?

Also just so you know I have a trainer and he's helping me with it but he only comes every other week. So I won't be able to really talk to him more about it until after the new year

Are you close by Centennial park, off of MClean Rd. (by the Nineth Grade Center)? Huge park. Side walk around the entire thing. Ball fields...soccer fields...tennis courts...large pond...bridges...you name it, they have it.

It is a great place to take your pup. Start out slow. Stay in a quiet corner if you need to. Find your pup's comfort level work from there.
