Exclamation Aggression in young pups

Hello!

I was wondering what the experienced shepherd owners would say are signs of aggression in a young pup (13 weeks) as in, what is play and what isn't play....or what could lead to aggression. Any stories on aggression and how you and your pup dealt with it are welcomed.

if you have an aggressive PUPPY, someone messed up on an epic scale. Puppies are loud and obnoxious and vocal, especially GSD puppies.

A GSD was bred to have some aggression, it is how you channel it/manage the pup that will make all the difference. Hopefully it is balanced with a good mind(the pup and the handler)

Are you asking because you aren't sure what you are seeing in your pup? If that is it, share what your pup is doing. Is it a rescue, from a breeder, got it from a friend...?

This.

Do you have video? It's probably just a GSD pup being a landshark.

I don't have a video but sometimes he will snap at you when being corrected, most of the time if you ignore him he's fine but when he's fresh out of his crate he's a butt head. He gets a mean look on his face and won't stop, so I crate him for like ten minutes. This doesn't happen too often anymore but when it does it's frustrating. Hes very vocal, and will growl/bark at you to chase him, but that's ignored also. He's doing pretty well but I'm a new shepherd owner so I want to know what you guys would say is agressive behavior. He only gets like this when he's over excited and needs to be run usually, I don't think he's a mean dog by any means. It's just that when he gets in this mind set he is very persistent (like most GSD's I have heard) hopefully this will clear things up a bit, but probably just made it more confusing haha
Thanks

congrats!!! You have a landshark. Get involved with a good puppy class, preferably with an instructor who knows and understands GSDs. And make that boy work for everything he gets! Go read through the puppy section. Some pretty crazy stories over there. Dont worry. you're not alone in the crazy puppy zone.

yeah i didnt get the landshark or gator times with my girl. She's my little freak of nature. Very mellow since the day I brought her home at 12 weeks. Our older dog was... intense. Not even sure my girl knows how to growl. lol.

remember, socialization is a BIG thing. I think socialization actually might be one of the reasons my girl is so mellow in general. I got her out there a lot as soon as i was able to after shots and just went for it.

Can you post pictures of your snappy little guy?
