Default Problem During Potty Breaks - Eating EVERYTHING!

Hey Everyone!

Jazmyn has begun a new behaviour as of yesterday. During potty breaks, it seems her sole focus is to eat every.single.thing outside. Its been really snowy here (covering grass), to raining (revealing grass), to freezing rain so our yard is now a lovely ice/snow/grass mixture.

Jazmyn will pee on a "hurry up" command fairly quickly, but going poop is a whole other story. Today, she hasn't pooped since about 9:00am. We've been going outside almost every half hour to allow her to do so, but her focus is on eating things!

We've been teaching leave it, but it only works with food so far, nothing outside.

Any suggestions as to how we can get her to focus on us, or going to the bathroom, rather than eating everything outside? By everything i mean grass, leaves, sticks, snow, ice, etc.

Keep her on leash or watch her like a hawk. Versailles did that when she was a baby, she'd try to eat rocks, dirt, leaves, etc and every time she did I would gasp SOOOO loud and tell her "nooooo, potty!" and pick her up and put her somewhere else. I'm sure the neighbors thought I was a weirdo, but she did grow out of it very quickly.

She is 100% leashed at all times outside. So she's not getting away from us. She will just stop dead, and attempt to taste it all. I just hate feeling like i'm constantly holding the leash tightly and its pulling on her neck.

If I just let her have leash slack without attempting to keep her moving, she'll lay down and eat what she can find.
