My pup seems to think ( from what I can tell anyway) that she is my playmate and I am not so much her leader. Does anyone know how I can become more of a leader in her world? I dont really believe in the alpha rolls or even having to touch my animal. I believe in positive training. She is only calm and settled when there is a male in the house or if she is 100% worn out and tired. Also how does one find their postings on this forum without searching for it, can you recieve or sign up for a reply to come to your email address? Thanks.

There easiest way (for me) to find my previous posts and threads is to go to "search" on the black bar above, and click on Find My Posts or Find My Threads. If you go to your control panel (User CP) there are a lot of settings options you can choose and I believe there's one where you can have replies emailed to you. I've never used it though, so I'm not exactly sure.
As far as being the leader, we have several sticky threads that you can check out that are chock full of great info: want to understand and become a better pack leader Establishing Dominance How do you define "being alpha".... I'm sure NILIF is mentioned in those threads I've linked, but I'll put it here too - the leader controls the resources, so having your pup work for what he values is a great way to establish leadership that's completely adaptable to the age and abilities of the dog, and totally hands-off. Nothing in Life is Free And this isn't about leadership, but I think teaching impulse control is just as important and this game will help with that:

Best trained dogs I see have 'leaders' who know the key is to work on engagement and what that involves. Lot's of great info on Engagement - Key to Training <--click that

Thanks for the help. she has been through and continues to go through lots of training, via myself and two other trainers. I just got signed up for bowwowflix as well. They rent DVds from lots of trainers. The next one I get is Ed Farleys Establishing leadership. She is very into engageing with me always has been. I will keep up the training and watch the links everyone sent. Thanks again!
