Default Suddenly he's got separation anxiety?

For the past week or so, anytime I put Sheldon in his crate so we can go to the store or out, he's been whining and barking. Have I spoiled him by taking him nearly everywhere with us?

Also..he's getting TERRIBLE about when people come over. Jumps all over them, in their faces, all that jazz...and he's like that until they leave =/ I've resorted to crating him while people are here (partially because some friends are allergic), and even when we do that, he barks the whole time unless I cover his crate. He's never been allowed to jump on SO or I EVER, so why does he think he can do it to others? We've tried having everyone ignore him until he stops jumping, but as soon as they sit down, he's allllll up in their grill.

Also...he's still stealing everything and trying to eat it (and I mean EVERYTHING. Wallets, spatulas, forks, stuffed animals, hats, remotes, xbox controllers, etc). He gets an hour long brisk walk, plus off leash running and romping just about every day. =/

I'd up the exercise. Our pups need more as they grow. Does NOT sound like separation anxiety. More a bored excited puppy wanting to go go go (and not be left in the crate )

Have you found a great puppy class yet? PERFECT place to teach commands (like a 'sit') with distraction (new fun people) in a controlled setting with instant feedback from the instructor.

This is a huge reason most of us go to classes! So much easier in class than on our own, less frustration and anger then (surprise !) our pup learns so much faster!

We just got roller blades, so upping the exercise will be in the equation. Puppy classes are still in the works, need to get with the lady who does them (friend of mine who bred and showed basset hounds, and was a dog trainer for many years) to figure it all out. I don't know why he'd be bored..he gets his walk/romp, plus indoor fetch and rough housing with us, plus a few times a week he gets to play with my parents pits. It's crazy though, cause this is all new behavior....though I just stepped back and looked at him, and I SWEAR he's grown about 2 inches in the past few days!!
