My 3-month old puppy will sometimes bark and growl at me, and I am wondering why. Her tail is wagging, and her front body is lowered and her rear is up in the air. She does this when I leave the room for a moment. I am assuming this is her expressing her dislike of my leaving her alone, and that she wants to play. Am I mistaken?

That's called a "play bow". It's an invitation to play, sometimes accompanied by barking. It's a good thing! Nothing to do with dislike of being left alone.
