Default He swallowed a WHAT?

Found a puke pile today... we couldn't figure out the big green hairball looking thing in the center. In was huge. Was it a rag? A shop towel? My husband picked it up and sort of shook it out... it was an ankle sock! A green ankle sock. Somehow Knuckles managed to swallow it... and puke it up whole.

Between my husband & myself, he is supervised all the time. Hubby is home on medical leave right now, so he's never alone! I'm lucky he actually threw it up, but um... owie? That had to have hurt! We are so lucky it didn't become a blockage and this turn into a vet visit.

Moral of the story; puppies can ingest the strangest things in very short amounts of time.

My husband and I always joke that our pup has pica...the disorder that makes you seek out and try to eat strange items. I too am home full time and this pup and his strange desire to eat EVERYTHING is a full time job! He stole a stick of chalk from the kids this weekend and tried to eat it

I'm lucky Ruger just chewed up my $120 keen tenny shoes. He hasn't ingested weird stuff.

Maybe it was the crunch?

The girl who slept next to me during nap time always pulled them out from her pocket and offered them to me. In the boredom that was nap time, I ate quite a few chalk sticks.

So, I understand him, I do.

Our blue heeler has eaten and pooped out socks before. o_o; I've also heard the tale of a lab swallowing a whole mophead. The things dogs eat.....

my dog has eaten his fair share of socks most definitely. he one time swallowed two tube socks! the best was the time my SO came inside and was like "ummm what's your underwear doing in the yard?" i was shocked..i went outside..yeah it was there in the yard..in a pile of poop we figured he swiped it out of the laundry basket of clothes that had just come out of the dryer. we weren't home at the time...we had his auntie watching him. my dog is a garbage can. we supervise him, but somehow he always finds a way to be a scavanger.
