Default Puppy barking at people?

My almost 5 month old puppy who barks at people is kinda doing better now. She's very good whenever we are at the dog park but today when we were at petsmart she was barking at people like crazy and her bark sounds like she would attack but she doesn't. We are currently taking an obedience class. What should I do to socialize her more with people? Whenever she is at the dog park she is friendly but a little bit shy with people. Outside, she is more protective and barks a lot. What should I do?

My 6 mo old also has outbursts where he barks at people too. He just takes exception to random people walking towards him--not every time, but often enough. I usually try to distract him with a stick or something (he picks them up on our walks). I've also tried having him sit on the side of the sidewalk but today he jumped out at a guy walking past and gave him a pretty good fright.

My puppy is 7 months now but still does the same only difference is, it will only take a few mins for her to know that it is okay. The trainer at the doggy day care said she is insecure with people because when she walked in to play with her she started barking like crazy but after a while she knew that it was okay and started playing with the trainer. Some people freak the **** out when they see our dogs do that because they don't know anything about dogs. We just need more socialization, that's all!
