Beau is now 18 weeks old and I know he is not even a teenager yet.
Wow. I have raised several GSDs, even one working line, but wow. Telecommuting, I can't give him as much attention as someone who is not working from home but more than someone who commutes and just the sheer energy level and constant motion, and exploring things and wanting to get into things. I know I was right that I could not have taken him on if I did not stay at home. Not complaining. I know they are only puppies for so long but at 8 and 9, Grim and Cyra will still go all day long every day if they could. Right now the little booger is burning enough calories that he is eating more than twice what both of them eat combined (and having good stools with a good food so I know he is digesting it)

I usually have that thought when I wake up 6 hours after I fell asleep.
Malice hates to sleep. She gives me 6 hours and that is it, she also doesn't want to nap, she wants to keep going and going and going and going. ![]() I just want to sleep!!!!!

Hahaha - at least Beau has learned not to talk to me BEFORE my cup of coffee.

Not so much these days, Dooney has really come around. But from about 10 weeks to about 8 months- oh yes... there were times I regretted it. Dh used to tell me I picked a "defective puppy" and that there was something "mentally wrong" with MY dog (she is only HIS when she is good-LOL) He used to joke that we needed to tighten the bolts in her head- LOL. You have already raised others, so you know there is a light at the end of the tunnell!!

I had a big problem with Malice jumping. Jump, jump, jump, that's all she did. I thought I was going to lose my mind. We have gotten alot better.
Is Beau a Houdini? Malice is a professional escape artist.

haha, I was just having this conversation with someone the other day. I said "gosh, why do people love puppies so much? Sure they're cute but they are SO much work, responsibility and they the landshark phase is so frustrating" which then my friend answered "people, love OTHER people's puppies" which is true.
Sometimes I wonder how much work goes into my girl but I know she'll be worth it. I can't wait for her to grow up to be a wonderful loyal dog like everyone claims they grow up to be here. Sure she's cute and I love her, but I think I'm done with the hyper, biting, teenager puppy phase.

Ooooh I wish Sasha would learn this. She wakes up with so much to tell me and starts giving me kisses right away. I gotta say when I just roll out of bed I really don't want to be given a tongue bath too badly.

We've been talking about this the last few days, I can't wait for him to grow up! the biting is what raelly is still getting to us it hurts so much especially now that the big teeth are almost all in, but when i see him grinding his back molars agains his rope toys i feel for him, like my wisdom teeth all over
. Around what age did everyone notice the change between puppy to adulthood? How much did your pups change?
