Default Barking and Biting when ignored

Whenever I am sitting at the computer, my 12 week old puppy Mac will come up to me and bark and nip at me. I try to ignore it but he keeps doing it and when I try to make him stop he thinks I want to join in and it just gets worse. What should I do!

Hi!
The only time I got to go on the computer when Rio was a pup was after some physical and mental exercise. What kind of activities do you do with your pup during the day?
Your pup is nipping and barking probably because he wants to play. Some of the more experienced members will chime in with more ideas but we go by the rule "A tired puppy is a happy puppy" Perhaps a kong or bully stick would keep your pup entertained if he is still nipping after play time.

Sounds like your puppy is bored.

Make sure your pup gets lots of interactive playtime. Then, when you're sitting at your computer trying to get some work done, the pup can go in his crate.

get off the computer and give your pup some attention. try giving
your pup some attention before you get on the computer. crating will help
but before you crate give your pup some attention.

Thanks for all the great ideas - I guess it really is common sense to wear him out! I'll keep working on it

This is what crates and ex pens are for. If you have to be on your computer (I work from home so I do), you need to find a way to confine your little land shark so you can accomplish something.
