Default Heat question.

Shasta is still in her 1st heat cycle. She used to be really good with letting kids pet her. Now with a couple of kids that she did not have a problem with before she is getting a little snippy with. Could that be because she is in heat? I do not let any of them pet her on my walks because of it.

I didn't notice any personality changes in our Shasta when she was in heat but that's just my limited experience.

My girl Carly gets extremely goofy and loving when she's in heat (which is right now), while my other girl Sage, gets all dramatic and whiney and grumpy.

I guess I just not going to let little ones pet her right now. She is cranky I guess.

She could also be maturing...either way, "snippy" (do you mean SNAPPY? Nippy?) with kids is never good, don't write it off as "in heat".

Its only with 2 kids. I dont know why. She trys to nip at them. All the other kids she is fine with. I dont know what it is about these two that she does not like. We dont have any little ones so since she was 3 months I let the kids on my walks pet her. She has always been really fine till now.
