I do remember our Rottweiler puppy that we had had the same chewing fascination. Loved wood. Our Golden, couldn't care less about wood. Now Knuckles is obsessed with it. The kitchen chairs, table legs, even our stairs. Is there a toy or some kind of chew that resembles wood I can use for a redirection? When he wants wood, he doesn't want any of the other toys. I ended up rubbing IcyHot on the bottom step this morning just to keep him from chewing it. (I watched to make sure he didn't lick it off, didn't figure that would be any good for him. The smell alone is keeping him away!)

I haven't noticed Sif eatting the furniture yet, though she's in her crate alot while we train / deworm her. I have noticed that on walks she picks up EVERYTHING off the ground. Sticks, leaves, other dogs poo (ew!)
As far as a wooden dog toy, I'm not sure. That Icyhot was smart. :P |
