How much raw to give him? he is a very hungry boy!!

Hi everone

baby max loves to eat!! which is fine with me but if I follow the guideline listed by common sense food and my own research, he acts like he is hungry for more! he eats and eats. First day he came home , I didnt have a food weight scale, I gave him a pretty big chunk of commercial raw food thinking that he probably will leave some left over! nope, he chugged it down like its his last meal! Should I feed him more than the guideline or stick to it according to weight and % ratio?

BTW, I am feeding him commercial raw.

Guidelines are averages.....if you have a dog which is highly exercised and getting thin...I'd up the food a bit and see what trend develops....need more, feed more. You are probably the best judge of your dog's body mass...the old rib test is a good place to start. I'd err to the lean side rather than overweight. Usually the guidelines on commercially prepared dog foods seem to be high as they are in the business of selling their product. But that doesn't seem to be the situation in your case. I don't think it's unusual at all that dogs will eat all which is put in front of them....
