Is it safe to give pups canned tuna, ham, salmon ? I was wondering if I can put it in my dogs food since he is very picky.

Maybe a small portion as "one off" treat, but that's a too much salt to feed regularly.

Also, once you start adding stuff to his food to make him eat then you might always need to do it. Unless you then fast him and start over.

If my dog doesn't eat - I give it to him next meal. If he doesn't eat for a day or so then i'd start giving tasty stuff to see if he's just picky or something is wrong.

I totally agree 100% I'm trying to get his appetite back. I know the the after math. But it's a risk I'm ready to take for now. I kinda want to do the raw diet/kibble. I'm to scared to go straight raw.

Unslated canned sardines are great for your dog.

Oh then sure, do what you must. Egg on top, raw or boiled, unsalted sardines as Sunflowers suggested, boiled chicken cut in tiny pieces so he can't pick it out. Also, use the water from boiling the chicken in the kibble too. Also can get some canned dog food and mix with that

If you want canned dog food that's closer to the composition of a raw food, both Wellness and Nature's Variety have great canned foods.

Best canned food is absolutely ziwipeak. No comparison. I guarantee your dog will devour it.

Scared of what? Just curious. Hoping we can all help you get passed your fears. I've been feeding all of my dogs raw for over 4 years now and have learned a lot through the process.

I wouldn't know if he is getting a balance diet. The right nutrients. I wouldn't want to lack something in his diet that I would hurt him. I've never went raw, so basically I'm afraid to do something wrong.
