Default how come

I really just want to know...
My friend's dog mated and got a litter of 8 puppies , the female ate 4 of the puppies and in 1 day another 4 came, after 2 months all the 4 dogs got parvo and died and the father had foam on his mouth and died as well, and the only survivor was the mother she didn't even get a cold.
Lexy was one of those puppies who got parvo and died the whole family died except for the mother.
Is that just a coincidence or was there sth wrong?

if it was parvo/rabies(Foaming at the mouth),,they all caught it from each other. The mother must have been immune in some way.

This is what can happen when someone just breeds with no thought or education into breeding.

There is no way to know without knowing what disease killed them all. Sorry. It could be anything really. The sire could have been exposed to Rabies, but not actively shedding the disease. What ever killed the pups, could have a period of 4 weeks from infection to death. Who knows. There is not nearly enough information to go on.

I'm so sorry about your dear Lexy. Sometimes we want to understand why and it's just not possible.

Could the entire litter have been poisoned?

If the sire had rabies, was your F vaccinated for rabies?
