Puppies. Raising a Happy & Healthy Litter

I know we talked at length yesterday but I wanted to post and show my public support! And I can't wait for our forum get together for viewing!

Danielle, I think you are doing a wonderful thing for these pups. Things happen that sometimes can't predict. Good job with doing right by these pups.

Your a brave lady coming here and posting and want to show my support to you in this. I trust/know you will do all and more for these pups (already are!).

I was not wanting to post hear at all bc of fear of backlashing. I have been working hard with these little guys every day. To assure I do every thing best I can to get these little ones placed in the right forever homes.

My male isn't fixed bc I was waiting for him to mature to the age of 2 years. Also I wanted to get his hips and elbow done before I did that.

And this is a prime example of how I always cringe when people encourage leaving males intact "until they mature".

We, as a rescue, have managed to raise puppies healthy/happy/socialized, it isn't too difficult if you hold them lots and expose them to new things - kitties, other dogs (when they are older), etc.

I hope you can put the puppies on a spay/neuter contract when you rehome them, even if you don't "make" any money on them, and also get one or both of your dogs altered after this is done

If you need assistance devising a contract to s/n (or just do it yourself when they are old enough, shoot me a PM and I'll try to help.

Thank you. I will be altering my male very soon. For now they are kept seprate from each other. Spay/ Neuter will be apart of my contract.

Danielle from what you have told me your male does have a lot to offer . The pups have two parents with solid stable temperaments . The male has no extremes or exaggerations - easy to live with , easy to work with , no issues .
Add some more of his qualities --

We've learned though, that the contract is just another piece of paper, unless you have a good attorney and money for that same attorney.
We've had to enforce contracts a few times over the past 4yrs. and it is no fun.
Careful screening, however, makes a big difference

My male is awesome. He loves my children great temperament. No aggressions. He very smart he opens and closes his crate. I lock it however. As a pup we had one potty accident in the house. Also wants to please me. Very sharp on OB however still a work in progress. I've have just recently have been trying him at my club in PSA. In the house he aways a cuddly bug.
