Introducing Koda!

Here's our 8 week old ball of energy and love named Koda. We adopted him from a family who had an unexpected litter and couldn't take care of him. He is a bit on the small side, only 9lbs, but we're hoping he catches up on his growth soon. We did find out that he had hookworms and coccidia which he is getting treated for. I wonder if that has inhibited his growth a bit.

Dad was a purebred GSD, but mom looks like she may have a bit of another breed in her. He certainly has mom's color, but I'm hoping he turns out to have his dad's build.

Seems like it'll look like the dam, eyes and snout are off to be gsd. If it's a purebred ya want the parents gotta check out! Regardless it's a cute pup.

He certainly will look like her color at least. Although I'm not sure what percentage GSD the dam is, I suspect that between her and the sire that Koda will look more GSD-like than her.

Any thoughts on what the mom could be? She certainly has GSD in her, but the floppy ears make her look less GSD-like.

I'm really excited to see how he changes and grows!

He's adorable when he sleeps and is a DEEP sleeper haha. It takes some effort to wake the little guy up.

In just a few weeks he has already grown so much. His ears are starting to rise at the bases and have moved forward also!

I am more convinced now that the woman we adopted him from lied about his age (think he was closer to 5-6 weeks when we got him), but in any case he was better off with us than he would have been with her.

He has disproportionately grown taller than "wider," but i'm not sure if this normal or not. His ribs are certainly not visible and he eats appropriately, so I don't think he is underfed.

Koda is too cute! I think you may have been right about his age. He's a lucky boy to be with you.
