Default The Sweet Missing Dog at the Lake

So yesterday, while unleashing Acheron and Dakoda at the local lake, I had a very pretty female shepherd come trotting right up to us. There was nobody else around. She followed Ash nd Koda over to me, and that's when I noticed how skinny she was (and that she had a collar). There weren't any tags so I took her home and waited until I could run her to the emergency vet.
Came to find out she was chipped and had run off the day before from her owner. He'd only adopted her a week ago from a local rescue (foster failure).

So, he brought his paperwork from her adoption and I got in touch with the rescue to confirm. And sent her on her merry way with him and a brand new tag on her collar. I just thought I would share the pics of her with all of you because she was so interesting to look at! And yes, that's her natural fur on that ear.

Thank goodness they had her chipped! Good job! She nearly missed out on her furever home!

She just about did! I had even thought about just keeping her when I found her, because I assumed she had been dumped (just too emaciated to have belonged to a good home for long).
I am glad that I got her scanned and she had one, though. It was so freshly put there that they had to call the microchip company because the contact info hadn't been logged into the database yet (just that it was active).

Good news and I'm glad she has her happy ending
