Default Exercising Your GSD

One of our favorite things to do is bike together. I usually stop at the local park to do some ball retrieval, so he wears a backpack so he can carry his own ball and long line. Totally fun way for both of us to get a workout!

I was advised by several trainers and my vet that 18 months is more advisable when running /biking with my dog. Fergus is two and a half and does great with biking / jogging. Since I'm in Texas, I can only bike with him first thing in the morning during the summer. It's waaaay too hot anytime after, say, 10 am. But he really loves the bike!

Yep, 18-24 months to start forced exercise, so we're halfway there. We're in Texas too, and it's been brutal these past few weeks. Definitely looking forward to fall!

I have long wanted to try biking with my dogs too, just never have. I hear you about the heat, pretty hot a few hours north of you too.
