Luna 1 year old female black german shepherd

Hello first time posting here's our new addition to our family her name is Luna and she was keep in a kennel way to much but now that she's mine I will work with her every day and teach her new stuff all the time and take her on daily walks/Runs glad to be a new member here.

thank you shes our first shepherd and shes has a thing with concrete steps she stops at the second and i try to get her to come in but i ended up having to carry her and she has a thing with hardwood floors too and she needs a lot of work her previous owners didn't work with her at all she doesn't even know basic commands not even sit so i guess i will start there then add in stay while im at it then work from there have a good day every one.

If she was a kennel dog chances are she has never been exposed to steps or different surfaces.

I might consider letting her bond with you for a week or two before you ask too much of her.

Toss food onto the new surfaces, put her food bowl on the next step up and push it farther with each meal.

Yeah that's what i was figuring its going to take baby steps at first shes kinda scared and shaky sometimes but that's to be expected i have just been giving her my love and talking to and her training isnt going to start until she is adjusted way more she wants to go inside but she is hesitant right now just kinda sticking her head in the door now thanks for the advice Kayos and Havoc.

Careful, gentle training will give her direction and increases her bonding with you. Try clicker training but first read up on it before you start clickering away.
I believe it was Suzanne Clothier on this subject: new dogs have three questions when they come into a new home:
1. Who is in charge?
2. What are the rules?
3. Where do I fit in?
And we need to answer these questions or the dog will.
