I'd like to know if you can tell me anything about this dog based on the pic above. This is the dam of my new puppy, and I don't have a whole lot of info on her. Any info you can give me would be very helpful

Looks like a GSD? Hard to tell anything from this pic, I wouldn't even guess on lines.

If it is important to you to know anything about the background of your new pup, then the best thing is to ask to see the pedigree, and ask the breeder these questions.

If the breeders themselves don't have any information as to lines or pedigree or other info, then not sure why you would chose them for your pup.

edited to add: Oh, I see from your other posts that you have adopted the pup already, and is mixed. I understand your question now. Still can't tell you much about the dam from the pic - just a nice standard black and tan saddle back. May have some West German Showline in her, or not.

Yeah, my pup wasn't from a breeder, it was from an unplanned litter between this female and a siberian husky that visited for a few weeks. There's no way to get much info on the sire, but I am probably going to make some more inquiries on the dam.

I have no reason to suspect that they weren't both pure bred dogs but of course without seeing paperwork, i'm just taking their word for it.

She looks to be about 6 yrs. old. She has not gotten white on her nose or chin yet. Maybe, she weighs about 85 lbs. Good looking girl but, I don't know how picky she was when she was in heat, so maybe a wild child of the sixties... lol...

She's pretty!

Any paperwork on her? If she's registered you can find out more either from the AKC or the pedigreedatabase.com

Much younger than 6. Mine have all gotten some white on their chin long before that...

She's a good looking dog. Looks sturdy, attentive and healthy.

I'd say she's more like about three years old. And if there's anything in her but GSD, it's sure not showing itself.

She looks clear-eyed, happy and healthy, and to me 100% American. I'd say as well if she's got any WGSL in her, it's not showing either.
