so I'm a HUGE hiker/mountain climber and I have been slowly hiking my girl since I got her at 9 weeks, this was our first backpack together, 4 nights in NC, Mt Mitchell, then grandfather mountain. Got some beautiful shots

Beautiful. We can't wait to start hiking with out little guy. He is not good on leash yet and most places around here require leashed dogs. He is getting there though!

How old is your pup? I've been slowly hiking her since she was very young, using a 15-20 foot training lead helps and also NOT using a harness (she pulls like a beast on her harness) start small, maybe one or 2 miles, if you don't start somewhere you will never get what you want

Love the backpack photo....My little guy is 13 weeks old. We need to get out there and expose him to the woods. Will try the long lead. Thanks

Be sure and take pics!! if he gets tired carry him, don't put any pressure on a pup, maybe go out for 20 minutes or so :)
