Default Our new rescue boys first week...*pic heavy*

Here is our boy. He has been with us a week now. He is 3.5 years, neutered male. He has settled amazingly! I'm shocked at how well in fact. Only issue is the lead walking but will work on that. He is the perfect dog off lead but to get off lead we need to walk on road for atleast 10 mins.

Being a good boy...

Sofa time

Testing him off lead in an enclosed tennis court area...

First time off lead...

Filthy again

Bath time!

Learning that the lead doesnt mean get over excited!

Off lead somewhere new

Cuddles

Family time!

New back pack for when we go camping/trekking (once he is more settled)

Two men impatient for dinner!

He stepped in his own poop...to clean him slighty we threw his fave toy into the stream...it sunk, he lost it. My husband goes in to find it, and does! But then Harley takes it back in again, drops it - and husband is straight back in. Couldn't find it the second time - so had to order another one! Funny day though. It stunk. And hey, we found a frying pan haha

Poor OH lol

After his stinky adventure!

Bath number 2!

Snoozes

Watching the Pancakes being made..

Smiley boy

Helping with the birds...

Being beautiful

What a beautiful long coat, he looks sooooo happy with you two and what an amazing environment he has to play in - one lucky boy!

PS I love long coats, they always have the most beautiful temperament

So very, very often when you open your home to a rescue GSD, you become astonished that someone could have allowed such an amazing animal to get loose/run away/become 'inconvenient', whatever. The longer you have them, that feeling increases. And the ones who came from a hard life just seem to show genuine gratitude the rest of their lives. The two I have now were not 'easy' rescues, they each came with baggage. But it is gratifying to watch as they come out of their shell, they blossom, they become what they were meant to be, instead of what someone beat into them.
