Yes it is for the public. It is in the Monterey Bay area, about 9 miles inland from Carmel. Leash free, but some trails allow horses so we kept Molly leashed.

Oh, lol woops! I was thinking of Carmel valley in San Diego. Darn that place looks amazing!
